Vaudeville for a Stage Manager.
"My work rather accounts for the artistic kind, although the job itself is listed under the technical crew." (Stage Manager)
This is a story about a loner who is working as a stage manager in a theatre for his 14th year. For years, this man has stood responsible for the actors having all the necessary props on stage, items such as their guns, mugs, swords, vials of poison etc. On one night, he finds himself facing the audience left in the dark about the cancellation of that night's performance. In his attempt to rectify the situation, the grand old man lets the audience in on the kitchen side of the theatre and uses his chance to perform as an opera singer, a ballet dancer and a drama actor. This is the moment to shine for one of the theatre's key people, an artist by calling who has never had the chance to showcase his talent and skills in front of an audience. As the Cinderella turns into a princess for just one ball, the stage manager becomes the star of the show for just one evening.
