Kristiina Jalasto’s play “Born Online” was produced in VAT Theatre. This play was created based on forum theatre performances and documentary material. This is a co-production between VAT Theatre and BCS Koolitus, and it is taking place in the framework of project “Theatre from the Internet”. The story of this play is about youngsters who discover who similar, yet different are the problems of the virtual world and the real world; how equally many dangers and opportunities have become inseparable parts of our lives.

“Born Online” premiered in Theatre NO99. During the following winter and spring the production travelled to numerous theatres and community centres all over Estonia. Entrance to the performance was free, however a registration was required. The main target audience was school youth along with their teachers and parents.

The play was created and the performances take place in the framework of project “Theatre from the Internet” which was carried out by BCS Koolitus and VAT Theatre in collaboration with Look at World Foundation. The project was also funded by European Regional Development Fund, Swedbank, Baltic Computer Systems and F-Secure. Other participants of the project include Estonian Union for Child Welfare and Police and Border Guard Board.
